Derek Redmond was there not to stop the race, he was there to finish the race!The moment his hamstring was torn, extreme pain struck him. He could have chosen to leave the track, but he didn't. Instead, he chose to finish the race, hobbling with his injured leg.
He wasn't alone, his father rushed into the track from the crowd. Together, they made it till the end.
Why didn't he lie on the stretcher and let the paramedics do the rest?
Why was he so determined to finish his race?
AND WHY DID HIS FATHER WENT INTO THE TRACK WHILE KNOWING THAT THE PARAMEDICS COULD DO IT ALL???
Despite the ordeal,
despite the tears,
he determined to give his all,
motivated by a love so love so strong and deep,
of a father who picked him up when he falls.
Life's but a race,
everything may start smooth and well,
no one knows when we are going to fall.
No matter how hard is the fall,
God is there to help us,
like the father in the video,
He is there for us till the very end.
He wants us to finish strong!
